| | | |--Robert Mac Doncha Mhic Gilespa Ruadh of Ardlarich. He joined the interest of the young pretender when he was very
| | | | young in 1745. (Note by JW: This is the first vestige of a date that Inverhadden provides. I shall assume Gregor was
| | | | 15 in 1745 and so was born about 1730. The average generation time is 30 years). Captain in the Battn raised by
| | | | Major Menzies of Shian. He was a very tall, handsome young man of great promise. He died unmaiiried and was
| | | | succeeded by his paternal uncle.
| | | |--Gilespa, who died young.
| | | |--James.
| | | |--Margaret, m Dun McGregor. Issue Robert &c.
| | | |--Elizabeth m John Cuthal in Stirling, with issue. James his third son went into the army.
| | | | Doncha McGilespa Ruadh had also an illegitimate son:
| | | `--Alister Ban. He was grandfather to Alexr of the Union Hotel, Edinburgh.

| | | |--Mary m Duncan Cameron, numerous issue.

| | | |--Margaret, m Alex Cameron, commonly called Corrybhuirich. She had a numerous family.
| | | |--Ann, m Hugh Cumming, schoolmaster in Statherie [Strathyre?]. She had a numerous family.

| | | | says Amelia II p515. Descent of this Duncan is fully traced on the Roro tree].
| | | | Marjory being the youngest daughter of a younger son of Gilespa Ruadh, the dates can just be stretched to fit.
| | | | She must have been born when her father was about 70.
| | | |--Alexander b1792, m Ann Sinclair with issue.
| | | |--Archibald b1794, m Catherine Cameron with issue.
| | | |--Gregor, m Janet Cameron and has issue. He was bred a wright (carpenter) and emigrated to Australia & afterwards to
| | | | | New Zealand with his family. [Note by JW: The Aust shipping records show a Gregor McGregor, carpenter, born
| | | | | Kinloch Rannoch, Perthshire, aged 35, on the Lady Kennaway arrived 12 Aug 1838 with wife Janet, 30, and children
|  |  |     |  | Robert aged 13, Oct last; John 5, Sept last; Duncan 3 Aug last; Christina 3, Apr last; Margery 9 1/2;
| | | | | Rachel 8, July last. The IGI has Rachel d Gregor McGregor and Janet Cameron bapt 19 Jul 1830 Fortingall.
| | | | | This Rachel would thus be exactly 8 in 1838. The conclusion is inescapable, and the dates will fit if
| | | | | stretched. NZ correspondent says two brothers of Gregor went to Alberta, Canada]. Amelia has Gregor b 1796.

| | | Gilespa ban and his two sons having died before his father, who had no other male issue, the representation of

         |--Para more IV, a very athletic and brave man, m Cirstan daur to Donald McGregor commonly called Fear fada choin midhir
         | | This make absolutely no sense in (my) Gaelic: choin is a dog (genitive), fada is far, midhir is untranslatable, Fear is
         | | a man, or 'one'. O chion fhada = a long time ago. "A man as long as a dog" or something like that.
