    |  m Janet McGregor (Buckley). Surely this is not the Glengyle sailorman, so they are now (1990) separated here.

    |  Glenure crops up again below. This is not the Prestonpans Donald of the cut hand story, who was

    |  on Alex the architects father's side, not his mother's.

'--A. Donald 1744-1831 b Ben Glas in Glenfalloch. m Janet (Joanna) McGregor at

       |  daur of Gregor Boyac of Inverardine (?Inverardoran) p Killin. J. McG WS thought this

       |  unlikely. I have no info on a daughter Janet of G. Boyac.

       |--(i) Mary (bapt Balquhidder 29 Jan 1773 - IGI), ?m McGregor (G23 states this, but the IGI looks more as if Alexander

       |   Architect was the son of Mary's sister Janet - see below. The author of G23/4 was probably Hope Ramsay and she

       |     to have drawn the wrong conclusion (as I did at first) from Alexander the architect's letter. Alex states

       |     specifically that the Prestonpans fighter was on his father's side, not his mother's. All the letter tells us is

       |     A the A's mother's brother was the Salamanca fellow. Now this Mary had a sister Janet - see below - and she fits

       |      | to Norfolk!) Yeomanry. According to the Architect's letter she married a McGregor,

       |      | and the IGI best bet is: m John McGregor (Balquhidder!30Dec1798), who must therefore descend from

       |  |   a family of twelve and was known as Shockley Ruadh. Dougal came from Mull.

       |  |   John had a brother who was `a Colonel or something'. The following is based on what Dougal said.

       |  |--Donald had a granddaughter married to McLachlan shepherd at Pollock (as of 1933).
